The Bulldogs are coming off a 69-57 win over Cornell in the last round, while the Bears scored a 90-81 upset victory over No. 1 seed Princeton to reach Sunday's game. Nana Owusu-Anane had a huge game for the Bears in the win over the Tigers, scoring 19 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Kino Lilly Jr. added a team-high 27 points and dished out 10 assists in the upset win to send the Bears to the title game.

These two teams last met in the regular season finale, with the Bears coming away with an 84-81 road victory over the Bulldogs.

On the Yale side, five Bulldogs scored in double figures in the loss. August Mahoney led the team in scoring with 16 points, while John Poulakidas added 14 points and Danny Wolf put in 12 points.
